Ltd Company Mortgage Nightmare

After a rather challenging mortgage process, on the day we were meant to be completing, we hit a major issue obtaining our mortgage. Well, basically we couldn't get it. It seems that due to one of our company directors not being able to sign the exact piece of paper sent out by the mortgage company, in the directors own home (he has to sign it in his own home???), they're unwilling to release the funds.

A bit of background up to this point... Simon is out of the country at the moment, so I scanned and emailed the form to him. He printed it out at his end, signed and returned the document, with a wet signature, back to the UK. This was sent to mortgage company, who will not accept it as it's not on the paper that they sent us. It's just straight from their own printer. There are no signatures, watermarks, stamps or anything else on the page, just printed ink on plain paper.

What is even more infuriating, is that the form is simply to tell the lender who we will be using to give us our guarantor advice. We have actually had the advice, the solicitor has signed the paperwork, we've signed the paperwork, so this form is, in our eyes, redundant!

This has led to us having to tie up our funds for the next 6 months, as we had to complete using all our available funds in a cash purchase. The refurbishment is going to be tight, with lots of use of credit accounts from Magnet & Howdens, and probably a fair chunk of our credit card balances.

We got the keys last Wednesday, and immediately on entering I was hit by that telltale damp, musty smell. Pants...
